Empowering Learners with AI: Boosting the development of skills in Higher Education through AI

There is an important gap between the skills that employers look for in graduates and the competencies they actually acquired during their professional career. Additionally, not all competencies are developed nor measured in the same way, being some of them discipline-dependent. Therefore, institutions must be able to innovate in their educational processes so that the student's learning experience is consistent with changes in companies and society in general, without losing sight of the competitiveness and quality of their models.

Openness of research data: visibility and opportunities

Data plays an important role in research projects and publications: it provides us with an overview of a field, and a route to follow in our analysis. Without proper data, supporting our results in an objective way becomes difficult, which may promote other conclusions. Because of this, more institutions are request data management plans that outline a methodology to be used, as data records, management, processing and treatment which will be executed on them.

Democratizing STEM experimentation with the LabsLand global network

Experimentation is key in every engineering and scientific field. Remote laboratories are software and hardware tools that enable students to experiment with real equipment through the Internet. Accessing real equipment remotely has many advantages, such as flexibility (in time and location), but the most important one is that it has the potential to drastically reduce costs through laboratory sharing among different institutions. By sharing labs, institutions also have access to more laboratories maintained by other universities. LabsLand is a startup that has created a global network of online laboratories, where schools and universities worldwide access real experiments performed in other universities on five continents.
