We cordially invite you to the official launch of the Living Lab & Data Hub of the Institute for the Future of Education (IFE) at the 8th International Congress on Educational Innovation (CIIE’21). Within the framework of the Congress, to be held from the 13th to the 16th of December 2021, we will have panels with experts discussing the relevance of Learning Analytics initiatives in Latinamerica and the applications of Educational Data Mining at Tecnologico de Monterrey.
This forum will have experts such as George Siemens, professor and executive director of Learning Innovation and Networked, Knowledge Research Lab, at The University of Texas at Arlington. Siemens’s talk "Imagining a world of human and artificial cognition" will provide important insights on how data generated in educational institutions can be analyzed to generate value to all the stakeholders (professors, students, companies, etc.).
We will also release the data collections that will be available for educational research, and present the procedures to gain access to them. These collections contain data from students, professors, grades, student satisfaction surveys, among others. All personal and sensitive information has been anonymized, curated and documented to facilitate the development of data models.
In the same manner, we will launch the data-based Call for Proposals on Student Dropout at Higher Level (or Education). For this call, we will provide a dataset containing diverse information from students that continued (or not) their studies three months after their initial enrollment. Researchers will be invited to submit their proposals to gain access to the dataset. The results of their analysis and models will be submitted to a Special Issue on a high-impact Journal that we are preparing for this call.
We hope you can join us to learn more about the IFE Living Lab & Data Hub and the multiple ways you can collaborate with us. For instance, you can attend our remote seminars where you can learn about educational challenges, emerging educational technologies, and interact with future call for proposals proponents and be part of a co-creation environment. To be aware of the activities we will have throughout this event, please answer this survey and provide us your email address.
