Lean Thinking Learning Space (LTLS) is a flexible and innovative physical space that generates the development of disciplinary and personal skills through experiential and challenged-based learning. This innovative Living Lab proposes to create a continuous production environment with all the real factors of a production process, as manufacturing, time, resources and safety restrictions. Students immerse themselves in real experiences and make decisions to create an efficient transformation of materials with zero defects and zero waste. Challenges start from the design of a product focused on social impact in conjunction with a partner, passing through massive and personalized production, until its delivery in a timely manner. Students develop disciplinary and transversal competencies focused on three axes of sustainable development. Results of this novel model of competency education have shown a significant increase in the development of attitudes, skills and knowledge, as well as an unequaled experience of the students in the teaching-learning process. LTLS has been awarded 2nd place in the Global Presence Learning Award Category by QS Reimagine Education 2019.
