Dr. José Carlos Vázquez Parra has a Degree in Law, a Degree in Psychology, a Master's in Education, and a Ph.D. in Humanistic Studies with an emphasis on ethics. He has 20 original and coordinated books, as well as more than 150 publications in national and international academic Journals. He is a member of the National System of Researchers in Mexico and has been an academic peer for multiple Journals, editorial projects, and Congresses. His professional work has earned him national and international recognition, such as the Arturo Díaz Alonso Medal (2015), the National Award for Inspiring Teacher (2018); the Ocelot Prize (2018); the Francisca Rodríguez Rodríguez Medal (2023); as well as 2 Honoris Causa Doctorates for his contributions to Latin American education. His research lines focus on Educational Innovation, Gender Studies, and Economic Ethics. He is the leader of the SEL4C project, Social Entrepreneurship Leaning 4 Complexity, from which he develops a methodology to boost social entrepreneurship competencies and complex thinking within an entrepreneurial ideation process. He is currently a professor at the School of Humanities and Education, and an Adjunct Researcher in the Reasoning for Complexity research group of the Institute for the Future of Education at Tecnologico de Monterrey.
