Gerardo Castañeda Garza holds a Bachelor of Psychology and a PhD in Innovation of Education by Tecnologico de Monterrey.
Currently, works as Leader of AI Initiatives in Education in AI Nexus, an initiative of the Institute for the Future of Education focused to the review, design and application of AI projects in education. Previously, he worked in the IFE Data Hub as Data Acquisition Coordinator, supporting in the creation of data collections for research in higher education under principles of data governance, protection, privacy, among others. Similarly, he actively participates in the School of Humanities and Education and the School of Business of Tecnologico de Monterrey as part-time professor, in courses related to digital humanities, research methods, and finance.
Distinguished as candidate member of Sistema Nacional de Investigadores (SNI) in 2026, Gerardo has collaborated in multiple interdisciplinary projects in themes such as education, sustainability and disaster risk reduction. Energy education, AI in mental health and education, learning analytics, and sustainability projects have been part of his recent work.
As volunteer, Gerardo has participated in international research networks, such as TRANSFORM, which aims to promote resilience in communities against the effects of climate change, or Digitalis, focused in the human well-being in a context of AI development. Consistently, he strives for continuous human growth, involving with Protección Civil Cross as Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) and participating artistically in the university chorus as tenor singer.
