Genisson Silva Coutinho is an Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Mechanical and Materials Engineering at The Federal Institute of Science and Technology, Brazil. Dr. Genisson earned his Ph.D. in Engineering Education at Purdue University, and holds a M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from The Federal University of Santa Catarina, a B.S. in Law, and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from The Federal University of Bahia, Brazil. He is the founder of ALGETEC “Technological Solutions in Education”.

As a researcher, Genisson is interested in quantitative and qualitative approaches aiming to investigate the efficiency of educational methodologies in engineering education. Genisson’s specialties are Engineering education research, Educational Innovation, Design and Product Development, Finite Element Analysis, Experimental Stress Analysis, Product Lifecycle Management, Automation, and Digital Technologies.
