Carlos E. Fernández García is an expert communicator in emerging technologies such as augmented reality and artificial intelligence applied to journalism, organizational communication, and professional design. He is a RENACYT research professor, a doctoral student in Education at the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos (UNMSM, Peru), and holds a Master's degree in Education with diplomas in Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality (Tech Technological University, Mexico) and in Accompaniment and Evaluation of University Thesis (UNMSM), as well as a specialization in Immersive Journalism: Virtual Reality & 360 video at the Knight Center to Journalism in the Americas.
Carlos belongs to MEDIALAB UNMSM, a San Marcos research group, category A, recognized in 2022 as the best investigation group from the Faculty of Letters and Human Sciences of UNMSM. He works as an associate professor of the undergraduate course in Social Communication and the master 's degree in Postgraduate Communications and is currently Head of the Office of Communication and Institutional Image of the Faculty of Letters and Human Sciences of the UNMSM.
His most outstanding achievements include being the founder of the Letras TV events and conferences channel, creator and general producer of the university newscast in Quechua Letras TV Willakun, director of the augmented reality campaign for the prevention of COVID in Quechua, responsible for the dissemination to support the thesis of Roxana Quispe Collantes to obtain a PhD degree in Peruvian and Latin American Literature, producer of the spot made by IA where José María Arguedas is brought to life and the creation of Illariy, and the first news presenter generated by Artificial Intelligence that narrates the information in the Quechua language, among others.
