Tech-based R&D Calls

The IFE LL seeks alliances with technology companies in order to sponsor and organize tech-based research and development calls that seek to measure their impact on learning and further improve their functionality and content.

For each call, an advisory board of international experts that act as proposal evaluators, mentors and collaborators is integrated. We’ve had advisory board members from institutions such as Purdue University (USA), the International University of La Rioja “UNIR” (Mexico), the State Distance University “UNED” (Costa Rica), the University of Buenos Aires (Argentina), the Federal Institute of Science and Technology (Brazil), the Federal University of Bahia (Brazil), and Tecnológico de Monterrey (Mexico).

Living Lab Calls

Our research and development calls are launched periodically, seeking to establish a specific timeline and guidelines to ensure the submission, evaluation, development, and publication of outcomes of the selected proposals. If you´re interested in participating in a past call, feel free to contact us to provide further details on how you could conduct research with the technologies available from our current active partners.

Creating innovative pedagogical materials for the development and deployment of virtual labs for multidisciplinary higher education courses in hybrid learning environments - Sponsored by ALGETEC

Virtual labs foster students’ learning of concepts and principles through simulations and representations of abstract phenomena. Additionally, they are usually flexible and allow students to change the values of the different variables and explore the experimental results faster than hands-on or remote experimentation.

Measuring the impact on the teaching/learning process derived from introducing multidisciplinary virtual labs in higher education hybrid learning environments - Sponsored by ALGETEC

Beyond concepts and principles, laboratories help students develop essential professional skills such as problem-solving, designing, and troubleshooting. However, the use of laboratories in education may be limited by a series of factors, including the cost of equipment, time, and infrastructure, among others

Measuring the impact on the teaching/learning process derived from the introduction and experimentation with remote laboratories in higher education STEM courses - Sponsored by LabsLand and Laiboyan

While in a hands-on lab students are physically close to the equipment and are able to directly view and interact with it through their own physical bodies, in a remote lab the students access, control and view the process online, via the Internet
