IFE Living Lab Methodology

The IFE Living Lab provides a real-life co-creation environment that involves several stakeholders as users (businessmen, entrepreneurs, researchers, faculty members, students and staff) with the goal of performing an innovative research process.

Living Lab: An iterative innovation process

The IFE Living Lab is governed by five Key Principles* that determine its research process:

Value: To create value for all stakeholders (users).
Influence: To view users as active competent partners and domain experts.
Realism: To carry out innovative educational activities in a realistic, natural, real-life setting.
Openness: To open up the innovation research process via Open Science.
Sustainability: To generate research that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability for future generations to meet their needs.

There are several ways to participate in the IFE Living Lab:

Become a Sponsor for a Call for Proposal to be issued:

Provides educational technologies.
Becoming part of the evaluation panel.
Providing resources for experimentation.

Participate in a Living Lab & Data Hub Call for Proposals with an innovative research project:

A pre-registration form regarding the project’s details will be required.
All results must be published in an Open Access, Analysis and Data framework.

Participate in the Experimentation/Analysis Phase of a Project

IFE Living Lab protects your intellectual property:

Technology information is managed according to the disclosure guidelines established by the Companies.
Third-party information compiled during an experiment conducted at the IFE Living Lab will be offered as open data at the IFE Data Hub according to the established guidelines.
