Institutional Data Collections

Available data at IFE Data Hub facilitates research execution at Tecnologico de Monterrey. The IFE Data Hub benefits researchers by providing one access point for acquiring validated educational data, ensuring a continuous review process of data integrity, confidentiality, and accessibility. Additionally, we provide support to researchers by helping them to answer their questions with the owners of each of our collections.

We offer more than nine different collections of educational data related to students, professors, courses, and others in the same place.

Explore our collections, find what you need, and request all the educational data you need from to perform your educational research at the IFE Data Hub.

How to access Datasets?

To get access to private datasets, it is necessary to follow a 4 step process including, filling out a data request form, selecting variables of interest from the Data Dictionary, and signing the Terms of use. Afterwards an estimate of time for the delivery of the dataset will be given. These 4 steps will be detailed descripted below.

  • Data Request
  • Data Dictionary
  • Terms of Use
  • Dataset Delivery

Data Requisition Workflow

To process your request, it is necessary to fill out the following form with your data in order to properly identify you. The form can be downloaded here.

The data required in this form are:

  • Personal information of the principal investigator
  • Declarations of conflict of interest
  • General details of the required dataset
  • Signature of the responsible investigator.

Data Requisition Workflow

The Data Dictionary, which presents the variables that make up the dataset, is provided in a file with a postfix Dictionary_Data teaser on the Files menu.

In the Dictionary tab of each collection, mark with an X in column A (Required data) the data you want to request and filter it in column F (Filter) to delimit the data according to the characteristics you require (for example: delimit certain demographic characteristics, period of time, qualifications, academic programs, etc.).

Data Requisition Workflow

Before getting access to the requested dataset a document with the Data Hub Terms of Use will be sent by e-mail. This document must be signed to get access to our data.

Data Requisition Workflow

The required documentation must be sent to ife.datahub@servicios.tec.mx and depending on the characteristics of the request, an estimated time for processing the request will be provided. The Data Hub will track these requests, answer questions, and inform the requester of the status of their request via email.

Our Data Sets

Every collection is reviewed periodically with the assistance of data stewards and subject matter-experts, who support our efforts to ensure ensure data accessibility, integrity, confidentiality, and availability for research.
